In burgerland public prosecutors have stopped bringing shoplifting cases to trial for social justice and shit, so now organized shoplifting rings have popped up everywhere and stores are getting stolen from in record breaking numbers.
Naturally retail wagies don't like this because they're the ones who bear the brunt of the effects with their stores getting shut down due to out of control theft, so they try their best to stop these shoplifting rings from stealing stuff since the government refuses to do it.

Not just because of the people who quit and got better jobs. Companies became too reliant on the profits brought in by the panic buying and the frequent snap releases (food stamps).

Personnel shortages that just get worse. It's not just "hurr hurr no one wants ta work," but companies don't want to hire. There's a shit ton of applicants.

Also, Kroger employees sign no-confrontation agreements when they're hired. Store associates are not allowed to stop shop lifters.

I travel around the USA I can't tell you how easy it is to steal almost everything for one time events when you stay outside major city outerbelts and dress and look handsome. ive probably stolen from at least 250 walmarts before and not a word has been said one time in any of them
