>when did grocery shopping become so bad?
It's just Walmart. I go to other groceries/stores and it isn't a problem there.

Same. But maybe it's also because I seldom to never shop on weekends and, if I do, I go either first thing in the morning or near closing. Fewer people that way.

I don't understand what's going on in that webm

In burgerland public prosecutors have stopped bringing shoplifting cases to trial for social justice and shit, so now organized shoplifting rings have popped up everywhere and stores are getting stolen from in record breaking numbers.
Naturally retail wagies don't like this because they're the ones who bear the brunt of the effects with their stores getting shut down due to out of control theft, so they try their best to stop these shoplifting rings from stealing stuff since the government refuses to do it.

The pandemic happened.

Not just because of the people who quit and got better jobs. Companies became too reliant on the profits brought in by the panic buying and the frequent snap releases (food stamps).

>stuff randomly out of stock
>employees who don't give a shit
>40 cash registers but only 3 are open

Personnel shortages that just get worse. It's not just "hurr hurr no one wants ta work," but companies don't want to hire. There's a shit ton of applicants.

Also, Kroger employees sign no-confrontation agreements when they're hired. Store associates are not allowed to stop shop lifters.

>> No.19512821

>>19512792
being not allowed to stop shoplifters is the right thing they dont pay their employees enough to go get in a fight with tyrone over the cart full of meat they might get stabbed or shot and that would be on the stores workmans comp cant have that

I travel around the USA I can't tell you how easy it is to steal almost everything for one time events when you stay outside major city outerbelts and dress and look handsome. ive probably stolen from at least 250 walmarts before and not a word has been said one time in any of them

for me, it's receipt checkers, as if they know what the fuck they're looking for. cost clubs i ALMOST understand where they're coming from, but they were doing that shit over two decades ago when your only choice was to go through a cashier.
acting like they knew the price of everything in the store by glancing at your receipt and your cart which you've packed the items into discarded boxes.
i sign a contract and pay a fee to shop there? fine, pretend you have a job, but don't take it seriously. with my aunt i was about to scan my card and food, but we were pushed into the "wait to exit" line. the hyperactive eighty year old used their only weapon, a scanner gun, to check the toilet paper, paper towels, and waved us through. they made me steal sausages

>> No.19512904

>>19512878
I've always imagined their real targets were little league snack bar owners and mormons who buy candy bars and snack cakes by the case. Like maybe the cashier didn't scan them all or they fell off the giant shopping cart thing they use there.

Please don't tell me that that is really the reason.
