I made some smash burgers for the first time ever earlier tonight. My whole apartment filled up with smoke and somehow they didn't form a great crust but still needed to be pried off my griddle when I flipped them. The edges of the cheese slices immediately burned and got stuck to the griddle as well. Still the best home cooked burger I've ever had.

I feel like it doesn’t know what it wants to be. The yellow cheese says backyard burger - some nice cheddar or something would suit it as a breakfast sandwich better. But that’s visual/presentation, I’d be lying if I said that doesn’t look tasty. I’d eat that in a heartbeat.

I used cast iron but 99% of the time it's just for pancakes so it doesn't have much of a seasoning. None of the meat ended up stuck to it, they just needed more work to pry up than I was expecting.
