We recently visited our favorite taco truck after a long absence and almost did a actual spit-take when they told us the total price for 2 orders of birria tacos. I was going to say that's awesome, but then I realized just 10 years ago those would have been normal prices without any kind of discount. I remember going to a generic bar and getting wings for 25 cents each, and on Wednesdays they were 10 or 15 cents each. Now it's literally impossible to find wings under a dollar a piece. I tried a Nicaraguan food stand yesterday. The food was pretty good, especially the meats, but it was like 70% beans and rice, and they charged me $45 for two meals and soft drinks. An easy go to for these places is a cheese quesadilla, side of beans, side of rice, and sour cream. Nobody can fuck that up.
