How often do you frequent your 24 hour neighborhood Mexican drive-thru place? Everything has gotten more expensive so it's hard to justify going more than once a month for me. This humble meal cost just over $20.
>inb4 san diego
Nah, it's just a drunken coincidence I did an "uhhh..." and settled on those two items.

We recently visited our favorite taco truck after a long absence and almost did a actual spit-take when they told us the total price for 2 orders of birria tacos. I know birria is trendy but these guys need a reality check, we could have eaten at a sit-down restaurant for the same price, and my wife wouldn't have had to pee in an alley (but let's be honest, I probably would have made her anyway, follow us on OnlyFans, @TacoPeeWife.)

Where in the PWN? If you're in Portland, the Cartlandia park way down on 82nd had a lady that specifically made "San Diego style" Mexican food and had carne asada fries. I haven't lived there in like five years, so she might not be there anymore. In fact, it's possible all of Cartlandia is not there anymore.

I was going to say that's awesome, but then I realized just 10 years ago those would have been normal prices without any kind of discount. I remember going to a generic bar and getting wings for 25 cents each, and on Wednesdays they were 10 or 15 cents each. Now it's literally impossible to find wings under a dollar a piece. Maybe I'm just getting old and don't realize how long a decade is, but I can close my eyes and still picture exactly what my girlfriend at the time tasted like. Shit. I hooked up with my first girlfriend from 20 years ago just recently and like a blind dog being reunited with its master I immediately recognized her scent and got a rush of endorphins as though I'd come home.

15 years ago you could buy 10 tacos an hour with minimum wage.
10 years ago you could buy 7 tacos an hour with minimum wage.
Today you can only get 4 1/4 tacos an hour with minimum wage, despite being more than double what it was 15 years ago.

It's fucked, when I saw the 1.50 deals it felt like I had gone 10 years back in time. I had the same realization, the same feeling, it just wasn't real seeing that deal again.

I'm sure the fries come in a big frozen bag like 99.99999% of all restaurants, and the sour cream comes in big tubs. Otherwise everything else is most likely prepared in-house. I'm sorry you've never been to even an average Mexican place.
