My grandmother does this. Burns everything. I ask "Why do you always cook everything on 11 and end up burning it", she smiled and said "because it'll cook faster hehe”. One time she made my kids pancakes and they call cried and when she was asking what's the matter they said "grandma they're all crispy!!" and she yelled at them. I realized she had put like 3 tablespoons of crisco in a nonstick pan and basically deep fried them. We don't eat dinner at her house anymore, and she's upset about it but is the type of person who refuses to ever accept any fault and just says we're all overreacting. She's become increasingly isolated over the years from her bizarre behavior.
