Pretty much every state has a bellvue, a girlfriend lived across from one, it was pretty funny thinking of stuff that went on in there. Sometimes it's called Bedlam.

going to runza a couple times and being disappointed, going to caseys and learning why people love going to a gas station for pizza.

more asian and african restaurants than you'd think because Lincoln is a designated refugee resettlement city

decently cool hip places in the Old Market, but the culture of high end restaurants where you need to have reservations way in advance/ be connected to the ownership like you sold them ad space or something- doesn't really exist here

The most perfect fast food place ever.

>> No.19320861

my family passed through there on a road trip when I was a kid, here's what you can expect:

tap water that smells like something crawled into the well and died. everything has too much salt and no flavor. slow talkers. people who get sullen and menacing at the sight of a foreign brand car. vegetables other than iceberg lettuce are an exotic hipster novelty from the big city. not a lot of anything, but of the little there is, most of it is churches.

>>19320762
yeah it's where cops would take mental cases back in the day, I don't think they do that anymore though they just throw you in riker's until you die of some preventable illness that isn't normally fatal

Congrats and good luck, i used to work down one floor in some mall in Georgia. The cinnabon in the mall was burnt out and I was the first to notice and report it, it was on the second floor, my store was on the ground floor.

Lots of references to crazy people being taken to Bellevue hospital in tv comedies set in NY. Barney Miller, Taxi, Night Court are a few that must've each had a dozen jokes or more references to some nut needing to take a trip to Bellevue.

>they still have taco johns

taco johns has been expanding in that part of the midwest. They have locations in Kansas and Missouri now. Runzas are still Nebraska only.

Anyway, Nebraska is peak midwestern. Expect a lot of breakfast places that give you tons of food. Lots of burger joints with milkshakes. Also pretty solid mexican food from all the migrant farm workers who decided to open restaurants.

Outside of the above, really nothing special, although that being said, fast food in this part of the country is usually a lot better than what you'll find in the downtown of a major city. All the fast food places in that part of the midwest are staffed by middle class white teens who have a semblance of pride in their jobs, not middle aged burnouts without other options

>going to caseys and learning why people love going to a gas station for pizza.
i have a love/hate relationship with caseys
their pizza is absolute trash and most towns usually have a bp with superior pizza in them
something is wrong with every caseys oven, i swear i have never had a slice that tastes fully cooked
but if i am hungover i can go in at around 11:30 and get a slice of pepperoni that has been sitting in the warmer for an hour and a half and its greasy and soggy and disgusting
but after i finish that slice my nausea from the hangover is gone because my body has just gone through much worse and now it is over

There was a Culver's and a Golden Corral last time I was there. Also it's right next to Offutt which is one of the first places that'll get nuked when Putin pulls the trigger so you got that going for you.

Half the population lives in one big (relatively) metro area that's half middle/upper class and half Niggertopia (where OP is moving) and one somewhat smaller college town. Everything else is small to tiny towns maxing out at 50k people with endless farmland in between. The small towns lucky enough to not be ruined by illegal immigration will be some of the last unpozzed places on earth.

I like the spicy jack runza the most

I've heard Honest Abe's is a good burger spot in lincoln but I've never been. I never go to lincoln.

If you're in Omaha try Block 16. Everyone that lives in Omaha likes to pretend it's some restaurant Mecca and that's just not true. I've lived here 25 years and I've had like 4 truly good meals. One of them was at Fleming's which is a chain lol. The best sushi is Yoshitomo and Umami (bellevue).

Nebraska is really shit man. I'm sorry you have to move here.

One more thing, the Birria plate from Abelardo's
We have Abelardo's, Lina's, and DeLeon's and they are all identical in nearly every way.
I think they are regional chains.
The Birria plate is the single best meal I've had that was handed to me through a drive through window.
