See, the thing is that statistical studies conducted on cows proved they yield a higher volume of milk when they have had offspring and received the hormone than if they were just shot with the hormone or only impregnated.

The capitalistic reality involves cutting costs and increasing production to maximize profit. In this case, adding the hormone to the cycle boosts productivity to a point it is cost effective, that is why it is used.

The point was never to stop impregnating the cows for "humanitarian reasons", specially considering those male calves represent an entire bull full of meat, making it a valuable commodity.
