Sauce was A1 thick and hearty. I was trying to make a replacement for the now defunct A1 thick and hearty burger (sans grilled onions). It was just a thin layer on top and bottom buns, which I toasted in butter so the sauce wouldn't make the bun soggy.

Ok ok I'll tell you. The cheese is this one on pic relates. I know, I know, >american cheese, but this one is so fucking good it's not even close. I'll post the ingredients just a sec.

As for the sauce, I reversed engineered the mcd sauce and was legally prosecuted by posting the recipe online. However I'm not a littlw bitch, so here goes.

5 spoons mayo, 2 spoons kectchup, 1 spoon mustard, 10slices finely diced pickles, 2 spoona that pickles water thingy that people don't like, paprika and powder onion.
Btw to get the exact same taste as McD, don't butter the bread, just char it slightly for around 5 seconds or so on a very very high heat pan (it should smell a like it burned)

I think swapping in shredded lettuce or butter lettuce with a thin slice of tomato below the burger, brushing the top bun with some butter for a nice sheen, and removing the pickle for a pickle spear on the side would be ideal here. Maybe a touch of aioli on those buns would stop those toppings from sliding around too. On the plus side, grilling the onions instead of fully caramelizing them left a bit of a bite and helped cut the richness of this sloppy pig. Always room for improvement, but I'm glad we actually have a few damn fine burgers ITT.
