American here. Just had a baked bean sandwich, and it was quite good. I don't get the hate.

i ate a good amount of beans on toast in college. our canned baked beans are way too sweet, unless you make them yourself or get the euro version in shitty tomato sauce. but if you liked it, you liked it.

It's just used as a way to disparage western cooking. I'm taken aback by this because I actually know food history. I think German meat preservation techniques and brewing are fantastic, French were innovative with their sauces and baking. The English have great pies, seafood, and roasts, all very hearty. Beans and toast is just a nice staple food.

how did you make it? with cheese? I would try it. beans on bread gets a bad rap because it's just a lot of carbs and starch, I think, but it really is a good combination if the beans are flavorful. cannellini in seasoned broth, partly crushed and thickened in a pan and eaten with toast, used to be one of my staples.

This. There are good and bad cooks in every nation. The people who post
>do Americans really
and
>this is 10/10 cuisine in bongland (with pic of toast sandwich or fish head pie)
need to fuck off to /int/ or r/banter and let us co/ck/s discuss food and cooking like adults.

Yeah, i put two shitty kraft american cheese singles on it. Would probably be a lot better with real cheese.

I like the kraft deluxe slices, the ones that come deli style and not individually wrapped. but besides cheddar, what would a good bong cheese be to go with beans? what's the most authentic bean preparation?

Never heard any hate for a carb-on-carb sammich.
I personally love sketti on garlic bread.
All my love.

Beans and cheese on toast is an excellent cheap and quick meal.

I have two small kids and generally try to cook decent dinners from scratch for them each day but sometimes you get home from a long day of wageslavery in the cubicle-cage and think "fuck it" but at the same time feel jewish enough to not want to pay for takeout

>Get some bread
>lightly toast it
>butter it
>cover it in shredded cheese
>put it under the broiler for a few minutes
>while that's going, open a can of beans and chuck them in the microwave
>take your cheese on toast out of the oven
>cut it into 4 triangles
>pour some beans into the centre of your evenly spaced triangles
>sprinkle a bit more cheese on top of the beans
Walla, dinner done in 5 minutes for the low cost of 2 slices of bread, 2 handfuls of grated cheese, and a 220g tin of beans. The kids are guaranteed to eat it all and if they're still hungry after that then just give them a fucking banana, kids love bananas.
