This. If there's only a half dozen people in line then I expect to wait on 6 orders, if you throw 2 online orders in there that's fine but it's unacceptable to have customers waiting in a short line, assuming there's a short wait, and then surprising them with 12 online orders in front of them.

I was a general manager (I now know the folly of that) for chipotle around 2014. I think a lot of people liked the idea of it rather than the food. And I have no reason to lie we did 4 hours of prep before the first shift. It was fresh in a corporate way. But no longer, they've coddled themselves in legaleese. Don't really recognize that company much, you can get the same quality from a taco stand

Which would already be annoying, but hey-ho the retards at the Chipotle App department can't be arsed to make it to where you can't select certain dishes/ingredients in the app that the store is out of. I believe this is deliberate, upper management makes the decision to deliberately withhold bad information (out of stock, excessive preparation/delivery times etc.) from customers until after you've placed your order so that you're less likely to go somewhere else. But the wagies don't give a shit and/or don't want to fuck up their order prep time numbers, so they just wing it instead of calling you (you probably weren't picking up anyway).
