Give me the absolute foundational building blocks between gut microbiome, what curates a good biome vs a bad one, what implications does a good or bad microbiome play on the greater system.

Modern science is literally not equipped to answer these questions because of how vast and broad this area is. There are far too many factors and far too many outcomes to factually produce almost anything besides singular one-off occurrences.

A lot of academia is fueled specifically by grant research which means papers. And holy shit bro if you don't realize the amount of garbage being written now for journals you're literally retarded.

The incentives are all wack, research labs are basically "teaching to the test" like all of what no child left behind caused.

I believe in the microbiome effecting the rest of the body. I believe there are foods to curate a good microbiome. But I do not fully believe the foundational-less research coming out that tries to give us clear cause and effect, because there are so many factors outside of their control that they cannot properly deal with.

Our microbiomes are literally beyond our comprehension. Programatically, figuring out the interactions of gut biome and literally anything else is basically O(2^n) at least.

Any correlations are literally just blind shot guesses, or over fitting data with thesises.

I'm not saying it's wrong, I'm not saying microbiom isn't important, which it is, but we are so, so so far from understanding it that it's basically 1300s witchcraft at this point in any field studying it.

I wish it was more clear cut. I wish we knew the ins and outs of this black box, but we don't. This is literally on par with getting to sentient AI (which we will never, ever achieve in our lifetime), we won't understand the deep intricacies of our own self.

I'm disagreeing with any of them, in our current academia cycle, that exists solely for grants and prolonged existence through the uni system, and the results they pull.
Maybe they're right, in very specific circumstances, but our microbiom is a literal blackbox of ins and outs that we have absolutely ____NO____ control over so we cannot properly test.
We might get decent ballpark ideas of what to do, we might try things ourselves and find they work for us, but none of our current day practices are equipped to handle a literal black box of information.
