which country makes the better curry? personally i prefer japanese curry

>> No.18563174

india and it's literally not even a question
jap curry is just beef stew with no additional flavors

>> No.18563197

Anyone who actually likes depth of flavors would choose India

Anybody who is a weeb or says they like spices but actually doesn't but don't wanna be seen as a tastelet says Japan

prove me wrong you tastelets

>> No.18563228

Japanese, and it's not even a question.
Carefully created ensamble of discernable flavors vs a dumspter truck of spices on a indiscernable mess of ingredients.

As much as I hate Indian culture, Japanese curry is not real curry to any degree, it's just a generic orange beef stew with rice.

Who cares, curry is a shit dish. I'm so sorry that we exposed this shit food to the western world after establishing the British Raj.
Hey the meat and vegetables have gone off looks like dinner's going to be a struggle
Ah sir not to be worrying we will redeem, sir you will not taste the rancid meat and veg for we will cover it in a million spices and cook it with mud from the street bud bud bud fucking hate Indians so much it's unreal.

that beef stock cube contains pretty all the essential spices for curry. And no, asafoetida isn't essential.
Honestly I don't get the hype for indian curry. I went to an authentic place, operated by jeets themselves, ate lamb curry with garlic naan
The curry was meh, it wasn't much different from the Nip's except it was way saltier, and the naan was just.. a naan, a completely normal garlic bread

>> No.18563348

I like Chinese beef brisket curry. Thai curry is also interesting once in a while. Don’t care for Indian curry, I like Japanese curry better due to more variety with types of meat and veggies but not the spice/flavor in particular

Gotta go with India here, although I think Thailand's the GOAT. Japanese is good too, I keep a fuckload of Japanese curry blocks around for lazy meals because I always have carrots & potatoes and if I don't have fresh meat I keep a bunch of spam in the cupboard.

India. Japanese curry came from British curry and both those bastards are afraid of chilies.

fpbp
I generally prefer Japanese food over Indian, and even when I get Indian I rarely order a "curry", but holy shit, it's not even close as to which one is better. That's like asking whether you prefer Italian Ragu alla Bolognese over Japanese Naporitan, which is basically spaghetti and ketchup. Overall I generally prefer Thai curry. It's just tastes fresher and more aromatic.
