i like a mix .
i forget the name of it but the ones where is like half barley wine and half meade. full meade is too sweet.
and hot meade is nice but the honey notes are a bit overwhelming.
id be interested in brewing some meade and mushrooms and soruce tips.

If it's not back sweetend it shouldn't be sweet at all. I'm sure you can find a dry to semi dry mead or make some yourself it's very easy to make

Picrel is what changed my mind on mead. Its fucking delicious and not too sweet like most honey meads. It also isn't bland like most dry mead. Unfortunately it's impossible to find outside of a two hour drive from where its made.

Love the stuff, the welsh one is one of my favourites. It's called celteg or something

yeast is supposed to use the honey to make alcohol. If you use the right ratios there shouldn't be a lot leftover

>> No.18566447

>>18566426
The problem with brewing mead is honey is a natural antiseptic that kills yeast. So it actually doesn’t ferment well without added minerals that suppress the honey from killing the yeast

Or you could just mix it with boiling-hot water (then let it cool before adding yeast). Heating honey considerably decreases the amount of various other substances in it.
