So I'm trying to learn to cook, but the hardest part is trying to figure out WHAT to cook. How do I decide? How do I think of more options? So far I've cooked
>chili
>Baked fish
>baked chicken
>steak
>sausage, peppers, and onions
>eggz and bacon
What else is there? How did you build up a library of dishes in your head?

Just experiment. But remember to keep it simple. Or just Google your ingredients. For example I have carrots, a leek and chicken breast in the fridge so "carrot, leek and chicken recipes"

I'd keep cooking simple dishes like you have and get a feel and intuition of things and then aim for more complex dishes that you like.
Also cute pic. I hope ashbie never breaks apu's heart.

You make tendies and fries and also boil some carrots and peas so it's healthy. What else?

Forgot to say you eat the yucky peas and carrots first so you feel happy at the end eating the nice things. But you don't have to eat all the peas and carrots if you're not hungry for them. Just a few big boy bites so you know you tried.

Pick a protein, vegetable, and carb. Then determine how to cook them. A weird but common thought is that cooking is complicated, and while it can be, it can also be extremely simple. I think celeb chefs complicate the issue by reinforcing that idea.

Beans. Just beans. Eat some beans. Maybe some rice and greens with it. With the beans. Stew some beans. Add hot sauce. Cook some beans. Beans. Put hot sauce on them. Eat the beans. You love the beans. They love you. Make beans. With hot sauce. Cook beans.

I guess all the summerfags are back in school now, if you made this thread a few weeks ago there'd be a hundred faggots crying over the pepe image and the thread would've been deleted 2 hours ago

If you want to cross it off the list, pasta, and making a pasta sauce on the fly. Very easy to master. Classic alfredo sauce is all parmesan and butter and a little heavy cream. You can make an easy red sauce with a can of quality diced tomatoes simmered down with fresh spices.

Forgot something, you mentioned wanting a library of dishes in your head? Git gud at roasting vegetables in the oven with basic olive oil and salt - It's very useful when you don't have to think about it and can add a quick veggie side dish to a meal that goes with literally anything. Practice with green beens, asparagus, brussel sprouts, and wilted spinach imo
