American style burgers, pizza, and hotdogs are viewed negatively but I think they're the zenith of culinary and cultural development for the West.

The US is so large that there is an abundance of regional diversity in there "shit food". You aren't going to get the same kind of pizza for example unless you go somewhere cheap or a chain. Then you have local favorites like pic related.
