I became aware of something regarding sandwiches a couple of weeks back when my fridge was empty. All those spreads. Marge, oil based, butter based, plant bases. Butter, mayo, salad cream etc. Basically anything you spread to moisten the bread is completely unnecessary and that entire industry is making a fortune from it..

There is enough moisture in your mouth to chew and swallow the sandwich without any problems. Even easier if you've added cucumber, tomato or lettuce. If the sandwich is slightly dry, just take a sip of water. I've been eating plain cheese sandwiches for the past two weeks. No mayo, no butter. Just bread and cheese and its absolutely fine. You're wasting your money.

Today I tried something new. Toasted cheese and broccoli sandwich. It was great. Going to start putting more vegetables in my sandwiches from now on.

Don't listen to the chuck roast guy. Stuff like that is so thin you can really rough it up in the 2-3 minutes it takes to cook. You'll absolutely want it at room temperature before you cook it, salt and pepper it ahead, get a cast iron or stainless steel skillet ripping hot, then add your oil and the beef. Hold the spatula so the point is aimed at the pan and you can both push it back and forth, you can chop at it to break those pieces up.

The heat will take care of fat that thin.
