What's your preferred method of cleaning when your main cooking oven gets too dirty?

was I supposed to have a backup...?

my preferred method is i pay a Polish bloke about £70 to come round and do it for me. makes it spotless, he gets a little razor blade out for the really tricky bits. but that's £70 so the method i generally use is spray on some oven cleaner, leave it for a bit then wipe it all down.

A lot of people have two ovens these days. Stacked on top of each other. Makes prepping big events easier, like Thanksgiving or Christmas gatherings.

Right, what's your preferred brand though?

I thought self-cleaning ovens were standard by now. Just lock it, set it to clean, then come back a couple hours later to wipe up the ashes.

I dislike how most dual ovens are smoll ovens. If they were full-size then maybe i'd consider them, but an in-wall dual oven setup is usually like 1/3rd smaller than a normal sized oven, sometimes smaller.

I'll stick with my full size single oven.

You don't clean ovens, the spills and stains add flavor.

Whatever is left after self-cleaning is just inert carbon. No point in cleaning it all off, just sweep away whatever is loose.

>> No.18012111

>>18012106
leaving the built-up carbon allows for future faster grunge build-up because you've essentially given it a nucleation point.

>>18012111
If self cleaning doesn't get everything off then chemical cleaners won't either. That's your price for not cleaning more often.
