Yes. Don't buy the cheapest (might not taste good and scare you away) but don't go crazy either (might not seem worth it without any prior experience of cigars).
I'd say somewhere between 7-10 bucks you can get some good stuff. If you're new to it, my recommendation is to go a cigar shop and ask them for a good beginner cigar.

And remember to smoke it after a meal, like dinner. If you smoke on an empty stomach you can get a bit sick from the nicotine. And don't rush it, might take up to an hour for a cigar.

There's a bunch of beginner tips on youtube. I suggest the perdomo channel, short, well produced videos.
Enjoy!

go to a gas station, observe cigars for sale there
buy a beverage of choice
go to head/tobacco shop
buy something with a brownish coloring (i.e. not black) that you did not see at the gas station
if you don't have a cutter, buy one (they may even cut it for you)
look up boomer videos on how to smoke cigars and emulate that somewhat
Keep in mind that longer/larger cigars take longer to get through, so consider starting small and don't feel bad about relighting or stopping early

I fucking love cigars. Some of my happiest moments were with a cigar. Had a friend in college who really was like a brother to me. We got into cigars for the fuck of it and we'd sit in the driveway blowing smoke for hours and talking to people who'd walk by. That's what's great about cigars is they last forever, I remember taking tiny hits just so we could spend more time out there. I really miss him, he's a big drive away from me now, still think about him every time I have a cigar. Regardless, it's nice to have a smoke on your own too. The length is the key

They'll correlate strongly with price but not always with quality. Since there's such a fuckoff huge variety available, my recommendation is picking something standard and branching out:
>Did you like the taste? What's the cigar made of?
>Did smoking the cigar feel good? Too long, too short? Too hot? Was it hard to keep lit?
Between those two, branch off within a single brand you like or go to a different brand with a size/style you like.

Americans have been heavily brainwashed for nearly 30 years now to hate Tobacco. Nearly anyone who doesn't smoke has an irrational hatred of it. For most of the 20th century, people who didn't smoke didn't care, or at best they found it irritating in a movie theatre or bar when it was filled with smoke from 90% of people smoking cigs constantly.

Nowadays you get faggots who unironically claim to get asthma attacks or allergic reactions merely from selling tobacco/cigs on someone who smoked earlier. It is completely psychosomatic for these people. They've been brainwashed to have physical revulsion and disgust regarding tobacco. That's why for a lot of these people even when they see these threads they have to complain. They aren't truly conscious individuals, they are just acting out of a programmed impulse.

Anyone who smokes in 2022 is aware of that absolute hysteria that relentless anti-smoking campaigns have caused in the average person. If you even mention smoking, you'll immediately be assaulted with statistics and cancer-scaring and wildly passionate arguments. They aren't wrong for the most part, smoking is certainly not good for you, but it's irritating how little they care about any other vices that are just as destructive and far more prevalent. Alcohol, of course, rarely causes that reaction. And they'll have no issue, either, downing Wendy's 4 for 4s. They eat candy and processed meats and added sugars and they vape without blinking an eye. They never exercise and they don't sleep. It said in the box "box of laughter", and there was a big nug of weed, a nice sized hash egg, and a bag that I'm pretty sure was heroine, mostly cause it also had a needle. I threw the needle away.
The next morning the neighbour screamed at the door keeper of my building and cursed at him, that's how we found out it was his, my dad left his bag and coat in front of his door. End of story.
Despite smoking weed myself back then I didn't took a single bit of his smokables.

Stop buying fresh cubans. Because of the high worldwide demand, they're rolled with that year's crop and need to offgas ammonia and age for another 5-7 years. Every other cigar producing country is aging their tobacco before rolling so they're generally able to be smoked right off the truck. AJF talks about ammonia and aging here. Tatuaje does some limited edition wet packs where they roll fresh damp tobacco, but they seal in foil and age for a few years.

The purpose of a cigarette is to inhale burning tobacco. The purpose of a cigar is to gently heat up the tobacco and release aromatic compounds. You're essentially vaporizing the tobacco oils of the inch behind the lit cherry by managing the heat. The point of keeping as much ash on the end is to insulate the cherry and keeping it from getting fed too much oxygen. If you puff too hard, too often you're just burning the tobacco and tasting nothing but particulate carbon.

I've always gotten some free cigarillos and I can recommend Hoyo and Montecristos. If you're just starting smoking, go with mild smokes. If you search 'Cigarillo' on Cigars International they tell you the flavors, shapes, length; I would obviously recommend you buy mild cigar and puff on them as slow as possible. How long will it burn? Depends. A tiny smoke? 45 mins? A normal cigar, 3 hours. Is it windy outside?

Oh, and if you're going to smoke several, try dipping the mouth end in sweet alcohol like armagnac.

Is this just for taste or is there another reason? Im more of a bourbon man if that works

Taste and it kind of acts like a filter or longer stem, you end up with a cooler smoke. At least that's my experience. Yes, bourbon will work. I've actually done port. I don't think everything works, I fucking hated vodka.

I got a box of them for super cheap when they first came out as a promo. Not bad, but I think B&M is still the king of pipe tobacco cigars.

I work next to a top tier cigar lounge and sometimes go after work for a few drinks and smokes. Here's been my latest cops over the past 3 weeks:
>Davidoff Year of the Tiger Edition paired with a neat pour of Espíritu Lauro Mezcal (Arroqueño Agave)
>Padrón 90th Anniversary Cigar
>Plasencia Alma Fuerte (Hexagon edition)
>H. Uppman 175 Anniversary (A.J. Fernandez Collaboration)
>Davidoff Winston Churchill The Late Hour
Today I went with a Galera Zephyrus because cheaper and decent for the price, wallet has been hurt lately with these buys.

It shouldn't be about the experience, it should be about two factors: Flavor and Nicotine. If you don't like nicotine as a drug, then avoid cigars. If you don't like the smell and flavor of cigars, don't smoke them for the "experience." If you don't mind or like the nicotine buzz and you like the smell and taste of cigars, then I will absolutely recommend you try it out.

My recommended starter is going to be Avo Syncro and Avo Ritmo. Very flavorful and very smooth, won't break the bank either. The protip is that cigar smoking is a lazy man's hobby. That one stick should never last less than 75 mins, so really be lazy and take your time with it. Light it, order a drink (red wine to start so the nicotine and booze high doesnt blast you right off the bat) and drink plenty of water throughout. Its a marathon, not a race, and a slow one at that. Oh and don't take it to the lungs. You want to just fill up your mouth for the flavor and exhale, the sublingual glands will slowly deliver nicotine to your system over time.

>> No.17953127

>>17944059
>so you're just tasting nicotine
You're tasting tobacco, the difference between the cigars being the plant, the blend for the filler + wrapper, aging and overall finished product. Hence why you shouldn't smoke cigars if you don't like the smell/taste of tobacco and if you don't like a nicotine buzz.
>like a wine tasting where you don't drink?
Nicotine will undergo drug metabolism via the sublingual gland under your tongue and enter blood circulation directly, bypassing filtration and "processing" by the liver for faster absorption. Alcohol is not as readily absorbed so unlike a wine tasting, you will actually get a really nice buzz from a cigar.

romeo y julieta cigar was very good. i just love smoking them while camping or driving, slightly tipsy from alcohol, puffing it fast and the heat just numbs your mouth, especially towards the end, while the most satisfying nicotine is rushing in you non stop

that being said, I'm looking for a cheap, very small pipe that I can hold between my teeth. what do you recommend? plus some VERY flavorful pipe tobacco.
