I preffer Longaniza or Fuet, but Chorizo is a great ingridient for some dishes.

I read the wikipedia page but still unclear what the difference is between chorizo and salami.

is different how you mince the meat, salami tends to be more processed in terms of fat (smaller cuts of fat) while chorizo tends to be thicker

-Salami is greasy pork sausage saturated with spices (to hide the poor quality of the meat), crapped out by American style factories.
-Chorizo, Fuet and fennel flavoured salumi are predecessors of the American system. Poor people didn't throw away meat that went bad, they just drowned the bad taste/health risks with strong/healthy spices. Most chorizo, fuet etc is absolute bottom tier to this day.
