An part of a plant used for reproduction with seeds inside is a fruit. Plantains are a fruit, so are tomatoes, also cucumber zucchini, peppers and squash are fruits. Vegetables are parts of a plant not used used for reproduction. Spinach, chard, potatoes, onions, etc. Then there is the one outlier that I know which are strawberries, they have seeds on the outside. They are not a fruit by definition, but they do come from a flower, so they are more fruit than vegetable.
