Oven baked wings.
Basically you just take 1tsp each of baking soda, corn starch, and salt for each lb of chicken wings.
Toss the wings in the dry shit(you can add w.e. spices you like) then let sit in the fridge for ~12 hours.
Then you bake them. They come out very crispy, legit almost like deep fried.

these deep fryers cost like $14 and have a temp gauge so you don't have to play around with a thermometer trying to get your heat right.

i take out side and fry on the back porch so it doesn't stink up the house and grease up the kitchen.
After i'm done frying i let the oil cool then strain it and scrub the floury sediment out of the bottom of the fryer and add the strained oil back in and stick a lid on it and set aside to use again a few more times. (make sure you put it somewhere where it won't get knocked over)

it is a pain when you start just like homemade pizza where it's a whole afternoon ordeal and you kitchen is trashed afterwards but after you been doing it for awhile you get a rhythm and know how to minimize the mess and time wasted, then it's not really any worse then any other home cooked meal.

I grab the fryer off the top of the fridge and take it outside and start heating the oil
come in and cut the chicken, dip it in flour then in egg then back in flour and put it all on a tray.
by then the oil is hot so i go drop it in the fryer for a few minutes
scoop it out onto a tray and go eat.
by the time i'm done eating and washing up the dishes the oil is cool enough to strain and clean the fryer.

There is actually less pots and pans then when i oven roast chicken and saute veggies

>2 cups/1 pint heavy cream
they sell 1 pint containers so it's convenient, or you can just get a big boy carton
>5 egg yolks
>1/2 cup granulated white sugar
>1 vanilla bean, or 1 tsp vanilla extract
>a pinch of salt

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Add the cream to a saucepan. If using vanilla bean, split, scrape, and put it in with the heavy cream. Heat until hot, then add your vanilla extract (if using). Remove the vanilla bean pods (if using).

While the cream is heating, or when it just finishes, you want to boil some water. You also want to bear the 1/2 a cup of sugar into the 5 egg yolks. Make sure it's well combined and light.

Slowly steam about half of the hot cream into the egg yolks, stirring constantly. Then pour the egg mixture into the cream, stirring constantly. These steps are crucial, as you do not want the eggs to curdle. Then, pour the whole thing into four 6 ounce ramekins and place in a baking dish. Fill the dish with boiling water until the water level reaches about halfway up the sides of the ramekins.

Bake it for 30ish minutes until the center is just set. When you tilt the ramekin, the center should move but not break. It should have a kind of jello like movement in the center. Allow it to cool to room temp, then set in the fridge overnight, up to a few days. When ready to eat, take it out, sprinkle some sugar on top, then use any method you like to caramelize. I have a torch, but apparently you can just get a spoon hot using a stovetop and gently touch the spoon to the sugar. Or you can use a broiler.

It is a lot easier than it sounds desu, and it's good because it can be made in advance.

>Put them in a bowl, preferably with a lid on, and then put it in the fridge for the time being
>Get a new cutting board and start cutting your chicken into pieces the size or ur thumb
>Heat pan just enough for droplet of water to instantly boil
>Cook your chicken til it gets a nice texture (cut the largest piece in half and check if it's cooked all the way through)
>When it's done, take the pan off the heat and season it with a taco spice mix (use a small amount of olive oil if the spices won't stick to the chicken)
>Take out those veggies u cut earlier and put them on the table
>Assemble your ingredients in a tortilla with creme fraiche and enjoy with ur favorite drink

I make minestrone with a ton of savoy cabbage. No meat but you can add some. I sweat a ton of onions then some garlic at the end and begin frying the vegetables (whatever you want besides the cabbage and potato), deglaze the pan with any spanish style rum, havana works but I use ron matusalem. Then just dump a load of tomatoes in there, you can use fresh ones but if you're using winter vegetables I'm guessing you'll want to use canned stuff. Enough stock to make a batch. Lots of worcestershire sauce if you can get it, its goated for tomato based recipes. I also add fennel or anise, it's a great aftertaste for a hot soup. And the rind of a parmesan wedge. Add the cabbage after the stock, bring it to the boil and cover it under a low heat. boil the potatoes in the soup after its developed.

My go to is the classic bot
Frozen sofrito mix (bulk batch and freeze down)
Chopped tomatos
Mince (beef+pork is good, but all cow is fine)
Red wine (I use the little 18.75cl bottles)
Beef stock (premade knorr stocks are fine)
Herbs/Spices (your choice)

-Slow cook the veg, little bit of water first to help thaw and then evapourate off
-Then add the mince
-Brown off and then leave to stand for a little bit (you want almost burned crispy bits on parts)
-Then add the chopped toms and season with whatever spices/herbs you want. (I use oregano, basil and thyme, but you can use whatever)
-Let it boil, then bring down to a simmer and leave for as long as you can (2+ hours).
Then boil whatever pasta you want, add it to the ragu and walaa, shred some cheese on that and eat.

However;
I also use this ragu for Cottage pie (I always make too much ragu)
Put some peas into the ragu
Put ragu in an oven dish
Make some creamy mash
Put mash on top
Throw in an oven
Cook
Cook some garlic bread on the side as a bonus.

My grammas macaroni salad is the best

>macaroni
>mayo
>sour cream (bit less than the mayo)
>chopped hard boiled eggs
>diced manzanilla olives with pimento
>salt and pepper

Tastes best after being in the fridge overnight. Get good olives too cus I bought the cheapest Kroger ones once and they tasted like tissue paper

>2 cans of bushes magic chili starter
>2 cans of other beans (chili or navy or pinto or whatever you want)
>2 cans of tomato paste
>2 cups of V8 vegetable juice
>1 lb of browned ground beef
>copious amounts of cumin, *chili powder*, garlic powder, whatever other spices you want
>cook down

Wa La!
A whole weeks worth of chili for like $13 bucks

Throw it on hot dogs or hamburgers, eat it plain, eat it with saltine crackers, put it over pasta, stuff a green pepper.
My favorite thing to do is heat it up, dump cheddar cheese on top, then scoop it out with saltine or tortilla chips and then dip it in fresh salsa and sour cream.

When I was really poor I would do this and eat it for the whole week.
My favorite sloppa!

Um yeah, sensible ones lol. About the only thing to do is make sure there’s maybe 1/3 to 2/3 sour cream less than mayo. It’s just a cold salad.

Guys, please there is a cookbook thread open already. Let's keep the recipes all in one place, huh?

I think this one was started before that. And even if it turns out it wasn't, this is nieched towards lazy cooks, while a general cookbook thread is not
