Why do the hard boiled eggs from the store taste so much better than the ones boiled at home? I tried steaming, boiling, different hardness but it's never like the ones from the store.

Why do the hard boiled eggs from the store taste so much better than the ones boiled at home? I tried steaming, boiling, different hardness but it's never like the ones from the store.

Of course you can. I never buy them, but "Ostereier" are a good choice for travel food. The colouring helps keep them unspoiled longer than normal hard boiled eggs and protects their shell from cracking.

They started out as a seasonal thing for those unwilling to colour their own eggs for Easter. What wasn't sold by Easter was left on the shelves and kept long enough that people bought a pack for their summer travels. Cheap, tasty, easy and neat to transport, no waste you have to chuck in the sea and way, way healthier than chocolate bars'n shit.

Now, should I try something new and pay a woman to beat my eggs this Easter? She is white, slim and specialized on ballbusting.
