Is eating wieners really seen as a sign of poverty in America? I mean why not.

>> No.17629732

nope

poor people generally are eating feasts on the daily and they have developed some top tier recipes.

This, there's a reason why even poor pepe can be fat in America.

Not sure how to answer this, just wieners by themselves yes but as a hotdog with sides not so much. Sometimes you just want a 'dog, they're quick and easy to make.

Ramen I can understand, but frozen pizzas? May as well just buy potatoes, rice and beans. And hotdogs are probably one of the cheapest meats in America if you can't find anything on sale.

hotdogs are probably because they lack some culinary skills

You just said poor families eat "top tier recipe feasts" everyday and I had you know that was not the case. Not complaining, just correcting you.
And I don't have kids. I said I grew up poor.

My mother had food stamps and we still weren't eating as well as some of you would like to believe. Much better compared to other countries without welfare benefits certainly, but compared to other Americans, it was definitely a lower income diet.
>>17629754
The ones I'm talking about were 97 cents growing up and one of those with a snack cake and a piece of fruit could get me through the night so they definitely never broke the bank. I agree with you on hotdogs.

South Park actually has some of the best takes on American culture, but Butters isn't the poor kid. He's the bland middle class white kid with zero self awareness about how lame he is. Eating cut up hot dogs for lunch is like eating buttered noodles. It's something a picky 4 year old would do. It's satire.

You should beat your nephew, quite hard, until he learns to reign in his emotional outbursts.

It's cheap bone scraped mystery meat which only needs to be heated. Eating it with nothing else and merely cut up is a pretty poor attempt at nutrition and any kind of flavoring. Of course kids don't mind, it's super easy to give a kid terrible taste. They usually prefer bland stuff. However, there is cheaper food that taste much better. One could at least fry the wiener cuts on each side to get some flavor going if nothing else can be added.

This has to be a normal almost every day thing to fairly be called a sign of poverty though. Sometimes you just gotta jam down the sloppa within 10 seconds for the kids for whatever reason.
