It's not about what as much as it's about quantity. A small reasonable amount of any condiment isn't bad, every condiment goes well with something.
For example, I put a little bit of ketchup on my burger or hotdog or whatnot. But one of my best friends will not only put a bunch of ketchup on his burger (and often nothing else), he will dump what looks like a fucking pint of ketchup on his plate and scoop it up with the burger before taking a bite. It made me nauseous and for a while I didn't use ketchup at all because of it.
Ranch is similar. Nothing wrong with a little ranch on a salad or to dip tendies in, but when some slob is drowning his slice of greasy pizza in it and getting it all over his mouth, it has to stop.
