When making calzones, you have to stab the top of it with a fork a few times to allow steam to escape. Otherwise you'll create a dough bomb that may leak out in much larger holes. It's also possible you may have overstuffed this with cheese. Remember that most solid objects (i.e. shredded cheese) will expand when they change state to a liquid. You have to compensate for this when filling the calzone.
