I don't know why you guys don't get this. He's got a show where he's traveling the world having a great time, and every now and then he has to cook something for the sake of the show. He's given some ingredients and told to throw something together. In most cases it turns out fine to great, like his fried rice when he was in the middle of some remote jungle in indonesia or whatever. Sometimes the retarded aussies give him weird cheese that he's never heard of, a cast iron pan, and a fucking fireplace and tell him to make grilled cheese. He botched it, yea, but he was probably hungover and told to make a grilled cheese as per his contract and threw this shit together in 20 minutes.

I don't watch any of the TV stuff and don't really like his style of cooking show. His hanging around making youtube videos stuff is great. Gordon legit can cook and if you follow his smaller scale content and his at home stuff you will definitely learn very good tricks and technique. Check out how he does his rice or how he does asparagus. Very small nuances that improve these simple ingredients. Then his at home meals I find really great. He makes killer sloppas. Which is exactly what many of us want as we want to cook and eat great meals under 30-45 mins on busy nights.
