So everyone says white rice is bad for you. Asians eat this shit 3 times a day minimum. They straight up eat this even for breakfast. Yet somehow they have the longest lifespans. Am I just being psy-oped by jews with the idea that its bad for you?

Polished white rice is a nutritional void. It's how the Japanese navy discovered the existence of b-vitamins and the cause of beriberi, which was widespread in east asia before the 20th century. A diet including white rice is fine, but a diet of mainly white rice is a recipe for disaster.

Lower GI foods are generally a better idea, but the total quantity you eat is an order of magnitude more important. Americans in general eat way the fuck more so they're way more unhealthy.
Ideally, you'd eat lower GI foods an lower quantities for optimal health. But if you're eating maintenance calories and eating multiple times a day then low or high GI food matters relatively little.

This, it's a quantity issue. Portion sizes in America are huge, especially at fast food and sit down restaurants. A lot of these people in Asia are lucky to be able to get enough to eat, let alone enough to get fat.

When Italians eat pasta, it's like a half a cup or cup of pasta after it's been cooked, not a humongous bowl plus breadsticks plus their battered, fried protein.

Fast food hasn't invaded and replaced the local cuisine in a lot of these Asian countries.

White rice isn't ideal. The bran contains some nutrition, but it's generally removed because the natural oil it contains can go rancid which isn't great for billions of people who rely on rice as a staple food. Like other posters have said, the rate of diabetes in some Asian countries is higher than expected when comparing the ratio of people who are overweight/obese, and the high intake of refined white rice could be why.

Brown rice might be healthier. Also getting carbs from other things like sweet potato, fruit, beans, etc. And a major factor in living longer with less disease is just eating less, calorie restriction has been shown multiple times to improve health and longevity.

This. Check into the Blue Zones and The China study. A diet high in grains, legumes, and fruits and vegetables typically led to a longer and higher quality of life.

>The Blue Zones are parts of the world where people live the longest. These areas include Okinawa, Japan; Sardinia, Italy; Nicoya, Costa Rica; Icaria, Greece; and Loma Linda, California, according to Dan Buettner, who pioneered the concept and wrote The Blue Zones Solution: Eating and Living Like the World's Healthiest People. He broke down the dietary habits of the residents of these cities and found a commonality: They ate a lot of plants and whole foods.

>The China Study examines the link between the consumption of animal products (including dairy) and chronic illnesses such as coronary heart disease, diabetes, breast cancer, prostate cancer, and bowel cancer.[4] The book is "loosely based"[5] on the China–Cornell–Oxford Project, a 20-year study which looked at mortality rates from cancer and other chronic diseases from 1973 to 1975 in 65 counties in China, and correlated this data with 1983–84 dietary surveys and blood work from 100 people in each county.

>The authors conclude that people who eat a predominantly whole-food, vegan diet—avoiding animal products as a source of nutrition, including beef, pork, poultry, fish, eggs, cheese, and milk, and reducing their intake of processed foods and refined carbohydrates—will escape, reduce, or reverse the development of numerous diseases. They write that "eating foods that contain any cholesterol above 0 mg is unhealthy."

Unironically some here on /ck/ will never admit that their diets will cause them sickness and aging. There is a reason why major religions avoid pork for example. Combining vegetarian/vegan meals coupled with fasting, drinking lots of water, while abstaining from alcohol and meat consumption; is an ideal way to good health. Wishing you all the best.

heads up to anyone who reads this, anyone who brought up the china study is not referring to the actual 900 page study that costs 200 bucks to even get a pdf of. They are referring to the cherry picked book. The actual study is far less conclusive.

The blue zones thing is also something one should take with a grain of salt. None of these areas are vegan, even loma linda, CA is majority vegetarian/pescatarian at best.

I agree whole, unprocessed foods, not engaging in vices like drinking and smoking, and eating appropriate quantities and getting plenty of physical activity and fresh air will improve longevity. But eating some quality animal products will not reduce your quality of life. Arguably it can improve it. After all, even Okinawan have their own heritage breed of hog, the Agu.

The china study and blue zones are created by jews to make people eat worse. Okinawans eat a ton of pork, just pork from head to toe if you've actually been there. The study was done post WW2 when their food production was absolutely destroyed and were forced to eat famine tier foods just to survive. Now Okinawans are back to eating just pork and they live longer than ever.

The carapace and bran have all of the nutritious fiber, but also have some oily shit that goes rancid after a while.

White rice is cheap and non perishable, but you need to eat it with healthier food. Some chicken and some aromatic vegetables like onion, garlic, and bell peppers for your protein and fiber.
