Good thread idea. I need to do shopping soon and I'd like to buy in-season things if I can help it.
I'm partial to winter squash this time of year. Things like baked squash with layered cheese and tomato sauce, or vegetable soups with squash.

Lentils also have like 4x as much fiber as potato. So if you exclude the fiber then lentils are 12% carb, but potato is 15%. Lentils are also 9% protein while potato is 2%.

Potatoes: 17 g / 100 g

Yes, but 8g of the carbs in lentils is fiber which isn't digested. So it's really 12g of carbs/100g. And 17g of carbs/100g for potato is for raw potato, but when it's cooked I guess more starch gets released and it goes up to 20g carbs/100g. So since potato is only 1.8g of fiber/100g, potato is actually 18g of carbs/100g compared to 12g for lentils. Plus lentils have almost 5x as much protein. This doesn't mean potatoes are bad for you, they just have more starch and less protein so need to be used differently.

Borscht can be served hot or cold, right? Which did you try? If hot it might taste okay or at least better if you refrigerate it overnight and then eat it cold. I thought I fucked up some stew I made recently, but after doing that it somehow tastes fine.

It was really easy dude. That pic was a cod chowder but I forgot to take a pic of the ingredients, these are for the Basa chowder I did which is a type of catfish. I basically just looked online for a whitefish chowder recipe and added my own seasoning and vegetables, and substituted vegetable stock for blue crab and fish bouillon, and then followed the rest of the recipe and it came out perfect. I've noticed it really helps letting your fish get fully to room temp for awhile, it cooks faster and letting the fish start to denature makes it more flavorful

lentils are for poorfags. Chads eat gamebirds during the winter. Just spatchcocked and cooked an entire turkey earlier this month and still enjoying the leftovers with some extra boxes of stuffing I had.
