>he fell for the overstated cross-contamination meme

I used to wash my hands with soap every time a piece of raw meat even almost touched my hands. now ill handle meat raw and just rinse them with water and carry on.

I do not worry about such things because I do not have GRIDS/AIDS
My immune system is healthy and fully functional.
If you concern yourself with insignificant microbes you are most likely a neurotic mess.

Unless you're being a fucking idiot with it I don't see how rinsing off a chicken would spread germs more than slapping it on a cutting board and taking it apart does.
You're not supposed to pressure wash the fucking thing. Just rinse out the cavity and maybe pluck off a few left over down and rinse off those as well.

cross-contamination is more of a problem in a commercial or industrial setting, and certainly can be in your own kitchen

in food service, a wagie washes dishes, cleans them with disinfectant, then dries them
everything is separated in a kitchen to be mostly clean and to prevent cross-contamination
beware, many condiment dispensers have not been cleaned in months or years

I worked at mcdonalds and we were supposed to wash our hands after touching the frozen burger patties, but none of the full timers ever did it.
Later on they introduced gloves though, which is good. dont remember if they used them.
