I used to work at Subway 10 years ago. Aside from the tuna and seafood, the stuff there isn't horrible. It's not amazing quality you get from a butcher or anything, but it wasn't appalling like some other places. Depends on the staff too. Sure, there are additional order items in the "Store Options" P.O.S. menu that the owner or local field consultant allows, but, in reality, you can customize your sandwich and the employee will use the "Special Request" menu at the till to account for a specific amount of protein/dairy portions.
