No one eats that breed of duck. That, and all the other cute ducks shown on here are bantam ducks, commonly known as "Call Ducks".
They are raised as pets, but were traditionally bred as hunting aids because they are loud and attract other ducks. I'm not a fan of this breed due to their short neck which can make them struggle to reach their preen gland at the base of their tail.

I have to remind myself that most people don't actually give a shit about animals. They never educate themselves on animals and will never keep them right. Even well intended pet owners usually are just torturing whatever they keep around.

Ducks ruin my fishing spots. They get attracted by either thinking I want to geed them or lures dropping in the water. I'd just take it home for eating of one ever gets cought in my line, though I am not sure if these wild ducks are safe to eat.

I'm not going to disagree ducks are stupid, I work with ducks. However they do experience basic emotions like stress and fear. And as someone who works with ducks I make it a priority to keep stress at a minimum. Ducks have a deep instinctual fear of predators. The duckling in the video where the DOG IS BITING THE BACK OF HIS NECK is TERRIFIED. All animals are worthy of basic respect, even if you are just going to slaughter and eat them. This kind of "uwu cute look they are friends" shit is disgusting and encourages people to trust fowl with dogs. And while I love dogs, most dogs do not mix with fowl, unless you have a maremma or pyraneese that you have gotten from working stock and have raised with the birds since they were puppies. Even then these dogs are bred to keep their distance.

Even if your chimp brain has cuteness aggression it doesn't mean you should torture things you find cute. You are supposed to grow out of that shit at puberty so you don't kill your own children.

I was visited by some ducks on the back lawn recently. I gave them a can of peas because that was all I had. They seemed to enjoy it.

It's only fair that I should be nice to ducks when they show up like this because I have eaten so many of them over the years.
