There's a reason why old systems of measures developed the way they did. They were based on sizes relative to the average human being, so anyone could go anywhere and have a rough idea of what counted as an inch, a pint, a pound, etc.
This might have varied from region to region, which lead to its reputation as being inaccurate and inappropriate for merchants and scientists, but for the layman it had its value in how ergonomic it was.

These are simple divisions that people have to do while measuring things every day.

Imperial is more properly suited for this process. People in manufacturing and science still use metric because it's better suited for that purpose.

Imperial is more ergonomic. There isn't even a question about it.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you're shitposting. But if you're not, the reason we haven't completely converted to metric is entirely political. I mean could you possibly imagine a scenario where a democrat government tried to make all the highway signs display km insteald of mi? HO LEE SHIT they would run that story non stop on Fox news. "Git that commie BULLSHIT out of MY country" and so on. Democrats would immediately lose the senate, house, and white house and the repubs would instantly reverse everything. It's a fuckin miracle Bush was able to get our government agencies to work in metric at all

I think the point here is that you're not typically thinking "oh, I shall pour this liquid into 0.33mL portions" but rather "I'm going to divide this into 3 equal amounts". That tangent is more going along the lines of fractions versus decimals, though that argument tends to go hand in hand with imperial versus metric.
Whatever. It's easy enough to understand both.

>MUH POLITIKS
Road signs in the UK are still, to this date, all in miles. We changed them over to kilometres here in Canada because frankly despite our size we actually have a very simply laid out highway system with few signs on it since nobody needs an update every five minutes when the next place you're driving to is six hours away with nothing in between. The US highway system is quite a bit more complex, though it has some similar stretches, it's more similar to the convoluted UK layout.

I probably have a better understanding of it than you do since I have an Engineering degree, but I prefer Imperial/US customary for everyday stuff. If metric was so superior, we'd be using stupid stuff like centidays, but we don't because 12 is more divisible than 10.
