I buy Dukes and live in the same house as people that buy Hellmanns and honestly they taste almost identical.

My secret ingredient for tuna salad is rice vinegar.

Thinly sliced red onion, toasted bread, avocado, lots of black pepper, maybe some diced gherkin in the mix. Sometimes I’ll add some hot sauce.

Make sure you don't use too much tuna. A tuna salad sandwich with too much tuna --- not for me.

I do mine with a good mayo (cheap mayo has too much vinegar) and chunky tuna, parsley, pinch of salt and pepper, lemongrass, a squirt of lemon, mash everything to fine pieces and then I place it in the fridge for 30 mins to cool. Since it takes a bit of time it's better to make at least for 3 servings, for the bread you can go with anything but if you toast it then do it lightly, otherwise every bite will squish out everything.

Minced red onion, but rinse briefly in cold water after mincing. This tempers the bitterness so it isn't overwhelming and improves the texture (more crunch).
