I remember growing up A&W was terrible. I’ll never forget the day they opened up a revamped A&W location downtown. It was a totally different restaurant. Delicious, fresh burgers and fries, great floats, in a clean location. One of the best fast food spots. Sadly closed due to covid last I heard.

Also I just looked it up and I’m actually from the city where it keeps its corporate headquarters.

The A&W in Port Orchard, WA was so fucking kino. Hadn't been renovated since like the early 1970s and went out of business in like 2017. Was across from the high school and had all kinds of weird ass decorations from decades past in the inside. Great sloppy burgers and shit.

Allen and Frank Wright’s early drinks were a little too fizzy for me tastes. But when their root beer stand came out in 1919,I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole lineup was gorgeousness and gorgeousity made meals, and a new sheen of flavor that really gives the menus a big boost. They’ve been compared to Mug and Barq’s, but me thinks Mug has a far more bitter, cynical sense of mouthfeel.
