Ah yes, the Double Cheeseburgers presented by McDonald's. Where to begin? The simplicity of the patties - 100% beef, salt, pepper - is almost sublime. Their dimensions are also perfect for a snack or a meal when combined with their world famous fries and a Diet Coke. In this age of grotesquely comical burger proportions, these patties are a refreshing hearken back to simpler, better times when people understood that less is often more. Not one but TWO patties sandwiched between the bun that we've all grown to love and expect from McDonald's.

Let us start from the bottom up. The bottom section of the bun is a perfectly browned, soft and chewy foundation leading to the first patty. Seated upon this patty is a whole slice of melty American cheese. This cheese slice is crucial because without it the succeeding patty could potentially slide around with each bite or simply have the mouthfeel of a single thick patty. The cheese slice is the perfect glue that holds the patties together while providing a pleasant distinction between them as you bite down. In a classic McDonald's show of generosity and vision, the second patty is crowned with a SECOND full slice of melty American cheese! Incredible.

For me, it is the condiments that really set this offer apart. Classic and simple: sweet and savory ketchup balanced by the acidic bite and zing of prepared yellow mustard, punctuated by chopped onions that add an excellent textural sensation and pleasing pungency and slices of crunchy, tang, sweet pickles. The flavors, textures and even colors of the selected condiments are perfectly balanced in their corresponding contrasts and overlap. It's simple, it's classic, it's wonderful. They also add a bright and light aspect to what could easily be an unbalanced, heavy, savory hamburger. Finally, the whole piece is completed with the top bun section, as is expected.

If you could distil the soul of America into one thing it would be the Double Cheeseburger from McDonald's.

Unless mods think genuine humans do make advertising for other companies part of themselves and even then, idc it's still an ad you're just a sucker for doing it without pay. I see those constant filet o fish threads and I can tell they're blatantly marketing material. Any culture that posts ads organically is toxic to the point of being the same as a real ad anyway. I doubt that gook moot is getting paid to allow "viral marketing" to take place. I can see McDonald's paying their social media folx to post everywhere including /ck/ but paying 4chan for this seems like a bit of a stretch but maybe I'm being naive.

The fact is I often post these types of threads because they are funny. It is a cooking image board yet most people eat fast food while watching YouTube videos on how to cook intricate dishes (previously they watched the Food Network). It's absurd.

Fast food is therefore a relatable subject, triggers the foodies, creates friction between Americans and Euros who pretend they don't want America's fast food options and makes for some great shitposting.

I honestly love the diced onions. When I worked there, we would store them in the fridge in large tubs to rehydrate, and as you guessed those are basically what it is.

Also, if you DO have fresh onion and want to get it closer to the mcdonalds taste and texture, mince super fine and then microwave. it's not quite the same but it's milder than just straight raw onion, so it can be really good if You're serving burgers to people who "dont like onions" but do infact Like Onions, they just don't like HARSH onions.
