Mi goreng is a classic but nongshim shin ramyun black is the best by a mile imo. Creamy beef broth, good amount of garlic and onion flavour, chunks of mushroom. Not super spicy, so I usually add chili oil.

Kinda agree, as much as I like beef in ramen the ability to use the regular for chicken, pork, steak is pretty nice. It's not too hard to get beef broth flavoring in ramen anyways.

basically, the consensus with Indomie's instant ramen is the cheaper & nastier they are, the better they are.
The further they try to stray from the original Mi Goreng and into the realm of soups and gourmet ramens, the worst they taste.

I'm not a big instant ramen guy, but I had to share this. To preface, I've worked everything from fast food up to one star(Michelin) restaurant. I know good food, and how and why.
This blew my mind: Some dumb fat chick I know, whom I'd NEVER take any advice from in anything else, was going on and on about how good nissin beef teriyaki was when you added a slice or two of American or swiss "style" cheese.
I tried it and was fucking shocked. It's amazing, addicting even. Ignore the chicken flavor, it doesn't work; and let the cheese sit for a minute after mixing in the sauce, then mix it all up thoroughly.

I usually cook up 2 packets for a meal and I think the normal flavor + the BBQ chicken flavor is the best combo. I usually do this with the mi goreng's since the flavor generally ranges from edible with poor flavor to incredible flavour and enhanced dopamine/serotonin activation.

God tier: Chinese - perfect in every way

power gap

Good tier: certain Indonesian and Malaysian ones (smaller portions, fewer toppings/sauces)

OK tier: Thai, Korean

Absolutely pitifuru: Japanese, and any generic one that just has one flavour packet e.g. chicken powder

Japanese underperform so badly that it's mindblowing to think this food originated from there. Other countries, especially China, are putting in oils, vinegar, toppings of all sorts and descriptions, chilli powder, etc, and Japan just has the most basic bitch noodles. I guess it's their conservatism, not wanting to change how it has been done since the 70s or whenever. But they're shit.

How do I spice up/flavor up the Shin Ramyun? Right now I:
>2 tsp sesame oil in medium heat pan
>1 crushed garlic clove
>1 tbsp chili flakes
>longcut green onion
>mix, simmer being careful not to burn anything
Onto the noodles
>boil fatty chicken with chicken cube until the meat is tender and clean
>noodles in
>spice packets in
>get noodles soft and cooked until the water starts to cook off
>when sitting at maybe 1/3 original water, low heat add in the oil mixture, mix well
>garnish with sesame seeds maybe?
Usually I end up with very little broth but well covered noodles and it's pretty good imo. Any tips or corrections for a more complex flavor?

black or white rice vinegar (i slightly prefer black and its cheaper), sempio soy, Toasted sesame oil - normal is near flavorless, mirin, black pepper, ketjap manis. cheese spread with herbs fits really well, just reduce vinegar. personally i nearly always add boiled smoked ham, and sometimes eggs fried in whatever form with cheese. fried onions are a solid option too, but i guess thats a matter of taste.

I am 100% convinced its the same food and seasoning in a different package. I can't discern one from the other, and have even tried them both side by side to confirm my suspicions.

Still tasty tho

>Maruchan is good
Anon, go to your room. Maruchan is hot garbage compared to basically anything else.

>>17005568
2nd. I have a pack of this in my kitchen. I get the 5 pack from Kroger. Best with Soy sauce as well.

>>17008676
Cup noodle can be good. Some how it's better than Maruchan

>>17008928
Salty, lots of carbohydrates.

>>17009641

I suggest this:
In the water itself, either keep it for broth or dump a decent portion out. I suggest rinsing the noodles off because it will help take away some starch from it. Add the packet(s) in (different brands have several packets like peanut sauce/oil). Sometimes I've had grilled chicken.

find a manager and ask them if they could stock it and the local nerds would go bonkers for it. Go to a Walmart, Kroger, whatever you have and ask where their "Asian" aisle is and look around. If you don't see anything, just ask the manager as I said.

>>17014496
I was talking to my boss about this actually, I asked if we could potentially get a bigger Asian aisle and I would be happy to stock it. He said that it all depends on the population. We actually are a very heavy Hispanic and white-Oriented Walmart.
