>put chicken in the rice I cooked on stove
>boiled some frozen spinach
Thr whole"meal" is kinda watery

>> No.16980261

Simple iprovement would be to throw the cooked chicke onto a pan and sear it a bit in some fat or oil or whatver. You could even take it out and then add in the rice and let it soak a bit of that oil/fat and scrape the pan a bit. Deglazing the pan beforehand with a small amount of water would work too, or better, some watery vegetable, like onions, and then you can combine the onions with rice.

You should have squeezed the water out of the spinach after defrosting it retard

Easy mode: fat, salt and sugar
Hard mode: Don't even try unless you spend some time using easy mode.

I'm gonna assume you have dietary restrictions on spices.
You could probably steam the frozen spinach, and (time-permitting) bake the chicken in the oven.

Thanks I think the boiled chicken is really gross when eatin in a big amount, searing them in oil sounds amazing I'll try thx

>>16980270
Not really a restriction fortunately, I'm just never good at cooking without following a recipe

>> No.16980300

Well for the spinach one good way is squeezing it dry after thawing, then sauteing it in garlic butter.

I hope at the very least you're salting the chicken.

You should be seasoning any meat with at least salt and pepper, and then after looking at other recipes get a feel for what other spices pair well with which meats.

Season your chicken
Use chicken broth instead of water for the rice

Take baby steps, anon. Start with a Cajun seasoning blend of some sort or lemon pepper.

Throw away the spinach (it's useless and an overrated meme food, I can explain this if you want). Cook your chicken in plenty of butter or olive oil. The butter/oil you cook with should be delicious. You should be able to consume it and say "wow that tastes great" by itself. DO NOT use oils from seeds like söybean oil, peanut oil, canola oil, and so on. Make sure you use an appropriate amount of salt.

Generally, you want your food to all have some sort of acidic component. White vinegar for rice or balsamic vinegar for a pan sauce (I can elaborate on how you make this), tomatoes, ketchup, hot sauce, limes and lemons are all very popular sources of acid. You will find one of these or something similar to them in pretty much every good dish.

The best food for people learning to cook is the egg. Eggs are incredible. They are very easy to make and extremely versatile. They are also one of the most nutritious foods on the planet (second only to organs such as heart and liver). You can eat as many eggs as you would like every single day.

Also, I just did a double take and now realize that OP boiled the chicken with the skin on. LMFAO that sound disgusting as fuck. Try searing them in oil and then turn the heat down so you don't burn the fuck out of your chicken. You probably will anyway but you'll get it eventually if you keep at it.

Use yellow rice instead of white.
Use skinless chicken or at least seasoned rotisserie.
Boil the rice and spinach and chicken together in the same pot in chicken broth instead of water.
For chicken + rice boil off the extra water
For chicken rice soup add extra water
If it still tastes "watery" add salt
Ez fix

season your meat you stupid fuck
salt, pepper, garlic, onion, cumin, crushed red pepper, cayenne, sage, thyme, ginger, papreka, or get those premade things of mixed seasonings, for the love of god just use something, ideally a mix of things. try frying as well as baking and see what you prefer
