I made some salmon on a campfire a couple months ago. Wrapped it in foil with lemon slices, butter, and pepper. It was really good and I was also piss drunk.

Way too long. It was this winter (northern hemisphere). Dorade and European bass. Whole grilled fish is based.

If I remember right it was a bonefish that I caught with my grandfather. We didn't bother skinning or grilling it, thats what grandmas are for.

grilled bass when i was ummm 13? I caught it at the local pond with a worm lure, best feeling ever… and then took it home and put it on the grill outside. Back then, we used to have barbeques and make kebabs and stuff and it was always such a happy time, and the grilled bass that day with salt and seasonings was absolutely delicious.

This reminds me of when I fucked up the transfer of my pizza from the peel to the stone. I was able to tell it was going to fuck up early on but my dumbass just went for it and it ended in complete disaster.

what’s the best easy way to cook fish on the grill so it doesn’t disintegrate when picking up or stick too much to it? wrapped in a chicken wire maybe?

I grilled a whole tilapia last month for labor day. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

The first time I tried grilling fish I bought an expensive snapper only for it to stick a ton and wind up falling apart. This time, I used a less sticky marinade for the fish and waited longer before trying to flip it. I also used higher heat.

I'm feeling more confident so I want to try grilling a nicer fish again. Anyone know what's in season on the west coast at the moment?
