I'm in a group of newly married friends (some better off financially than others) and we rotate between each other houses doing dinner. I think I am the only one who knows how to cook. Is it pretentious to do pulled pork, Mac and cheese, and coleslaw? The last two couples did store bought everything

No.

If you've just started they might be warming up and not readyto try cooking yet- but if you guys want to keep up the tradition, a slightly more humble (financially, like a pork shoulder, cheese, flour, milk, pasta, cabbage are all pretty cheap if you're feeding a bunch of people) but homecooked meal might inspire them to actually do more next time.

They can't be assed to cook themselves, or think they probably can't cook very well, but when they go to your house they think "yum, I like these tacos!" not "that arrogant shit made me free food! This isn't reheated hormel chili! How I secretly loathe him!" They're your pals, it's all cool.

Maybe it would be "pretentious" if he was pulling out a fucking beef bourguignon but pulled pork is like 2$/pound a good host serves a pound a person (they should eat less than that for their own sake, but whatever)- you season, if you're putting it in a dutch oven, crock pot, or pressure cooker you sear for ten minutes, then you throw in whatever is slow cooking the shoulder and you walk the fuck away, taking one minute to check progress once every thirty minutes or even an hour- it's not a needy dish. When enough time passes the fat breaks down, gets into the meat, and you yoink the fibers apart with a fork. The actual "pay attention" work is 30 mins tops. Mac? 2$ a head too I'd estimate. Boil pasta, make a roux, combine, shred cheese in and on top, put in oven- 6 mins busywork. Slaw? Head of cabbage is like 80 cents. Shred cabbage, maybe chop some radish and carrot, mince garlic, combine mayo and vinegar, then toss everything together- 3 minutes.
