At what age did you discover that Mayonnaise is actually blended eggs and did how did that affect your enjoyment of the sauce?

I was always a bit of a sperg and loved reading nutrition labels as a kid, so it was probably around age 10 when I first began eating mayo regularly. Didn't affect my enjoyment at all.

You could I guess. It wouldn't taste as good without the mustard powder and vinegar/lemon juice.

I don't like just regular mayo, the flavor doesn't do anything for me, it seems to just be used as lubricant for what would otherwise be a dry sandwich, my not liking it had nothing to do with the ingredients. I will say however I enjo flavored mayos that have been popping up in grocery stores the past few years; chipotle, garlic herb, etc.

half the time I use mayo it's just as a base for a sauce with fresh garlic and lemon juice, chili paste, toasted sesame and black peppercorn, etc

Like 14. You can taste the egg once you know. I like it on sandwiches. Lately though I can't find any that I like, they all taste gross. Time to start making my own. Anyone have a good recipie?
