Don't feel like cooking this week. Just going to make some sandwiches. What's your go-to homemade ones?

>> No.16746900

Slowly cook down your favorite tomato sauce into a really thick paste. Then make a BLT with the thick sauce instead of grocery store tomatoes.

Delicious. Be sure to toast that bread!

The sandwich you posted is a good one, I like turkey pastramis and Muenster with whatever veges I got on hand. Need to invest in a good drizzle tho.

Cooked tomatoes taste different than fresh. I think a BLT tastes best with ripe garden heirloom tomatoes, sliced thick and seasoned with salt. A BLT after all, is fundamentally a tomato sandwich with bacon and lettuce accouterments.

Classic egg mcmuffin is pretty nice. Can batch cook a ton of eggs and all that's left is toasting the English muffins. Good to make ahead of time to fill up quick and easy later. Can also fry up bacon while the eggs cook to throw on top without adding too much effort.

When I can find good rolls, hot italian sausage links and olive salad/giardiniera. Preferably finely chopped, dripping in olive oil, and very, very spicy. I've been eating these 1-2 times a day for the last week. It takes my propane grill like 5 minutes to get 700 degrees and ready to sear. Entire operation takes like 10 minutes from conception to eating. Taste the meat and not the heat, gentlemen.

Look in your local grocer for Mezetta. they should have it. you should make some thin sliced roast beef and make an italian beef with giardenera. Rolls depends locally, if you are like me in a state with bad baking like florida its very difficult. If in a pinch look into international baked stuff like spanish, cuban but should be able to find basic rolls at supermarket as well that can work. simply finely chop whatever kind of pickled/brined/fermented shit you like. pimento or garlic stuffed olives, black olives, pepperoncini, sport peppers, jalapeno peppers, spicy pickles, dill pickles, banana peppers, pre-made giardiniera, and then drench it in olive oil, maybe some freshly ground black pepper, celery seed, dried italian herbs...none of this shit is traditional, but there's a lot of room for variation

you probably want amounts, but the fun is just kind of adjusting it to your tastes. i like something really tangy/vinegary and spicy and also evoo that soaks into the roll and just a *bit* of minced garlic

For me, it's the McChicken. The best fast food sandwich. I even ask for extra McChicken sauce packets and the staff is so friendly and more than willing to oblige.

One time I asked for McChicken sauce packets and they gave me three. I said, "Wow, three for free!" and the nice friendly McDonald's worker laughed and said, "I'm going to call you 3-for-free!".

Now the staff greets me with "hey it's 3-for-free!" and ALWAYS give me three packets. It's such a fun and cool atmosphere at my local McDonald's restaurant, I go there at least 3 times a week for lunch and a large iced coffee with milk instead of cream, 1-2 times for breakfast on the weekend, and maybe once for dinner when I'm in a rush but want a great meal that is affordable, fast, and can match my daily nutritional needs.

I even dip my fries in McChicken sauce, it's delicious! What a great restaurant.

Correct
Also, a personal recommendation of mine, get Ox Heart tomatoes for your BLTs. They have more flesh then regular tomatoes and more seeds (but smaller) so when you take a bite into your tomato slice the liquid is still trapped by the seeds and extra flesh.
Your tomato juices won't just go everywhere and with every bite you can have a nice full taste experience.
