How do you use pepper and what specifically is it used best on? How is it supposed to make it better? It tastes bitter and gritty with a little bit of smell I guess.

I am just not sure if it's used for appearance without even thinking or if it actually has sone taste related benefit.

Thanks,

best way to use pepper is to infuse it in olive oil
but most people arent ready for this knowledge

Get good quality tellicherry pepper and come back after trying.

if your pepper tastes bitter then its no good
it should taste sweet and slightly floral, with a spicy kick to it
of course this is probably just a shitty troll post anyway

I smell the floral but it just seems to me that it doesn't really add much to anything you see people putting it on. Maybe you just need to use alot?

Ive made a note, thanks. It's not too exotic is it? Grocery may not carry.

Infuse, then what?

If you really want to taste black pepper you can't cook it, it should be added when its served, thats what in fancy restaurants the guy comes with a pepper mill

Right. That's what I do. I use a peppermill. I am just wondering if it actually does anything because I think back and I see people putting it on many things that don't make sense or you wont be able to taste the bitterish pepper.

And pregrinded pepper seems pointless except for making mashed potatoes look better?

It's just such a prevailiant everywhere thing that doesn't really do much if anything at all really. I'd like to hear about a recipe or something I can use it on where I knowtice it.

two rules to pepper
>people who put it on everything like it's salt are retarded
>pepper goes great on raw tomato and vegetable soups
trip fags deserve the rope.

I would think those soups would overpower pepper. Similar to chili.

Do I need to grind dill?

simply use more

The rule for gumbo is "grind pepper til your arm gets tired, then keep going a bit longer"

Nah. Whole foods or sprouts should have it and if you can't find it they're worth getting online from somewhere.

Really? Huh. So all those people who just do a shake or two of pepper from preground bottles at cheap restaurants doesn't really do anything. So what you are saying is a vast majority of pepper consumption in the world is "doing it wrong".

I'd compare it to the tendency of other cuisines to put chili pepper or mustard in the food, even if the flavor is mellow it adds that bit of spice

absolutely pre ground pepper doesn't taste like anything much at all, but there are certainly many recipes where its meant to be a dominant flavor
