I mean I wouldn’t mind eating trad Japanese food if I get a chance but the place I frequent is run by Koreans so it’s not “authentic”, and the rice is outside the seaweed. The ”authentic” place in my area makes subpar roles. I’m not Japanese so I think if it just taste good it’s good.

Anyone uses these for rolling sushi? They are intended for salads. Both smoked and normal version works well

Regular salmon feels to fishy and also I don't trust if it is good enough to eat raw.

the only american style sushi rolls I like are dynamite rolls and ones with seard fish on top. I absolutely despise california rolls and I hate how every combo has them, even in a place that's supposed to have good sushi like the west coast.

Pretty much this. I add cream cheese to nearly every roll because I’m at a western style sushi place that doesn’t give a shit about tradition anyway. If I were in Japan I’d definitely try authentic sushi, but in the US or Europe? Nah, I’ll eat what tastes best.

why is japanese cuisine so hilariously bad?
the main staple dish of nipponland is sushi which is literally just fish on rice
their curry is just watered soup
ramen is just inferior version of authentic Chinese noodles
even instant noodles is taiwanese (Chinese) and not from japan

why could the nips not make a satisfactory cuisine?
