Modern fruit is much higher fructose content and much larger than their wild counter parts. Fructose in high enough doses contribute to liver fat. Fruit should be consumed sparingly as a sweet snack or dessert.

Not true. The fiber in fruit slows the uptake of fructose. One piece of fruit, eaten in isolation, will not contribute to liver fat.

I really like clementines and bananas. I enjoy berries a lot too, but they're expensive unless I get them on sale. Even then, they typically get moldy before I can eat them all.

That's why I said in high enough of dose. A little fruit won't do that but if you binge on the higher sugar, low fiber fruit that might.

If you're telling people to eat fruit as a meal like in OP and they already have a fatty liver like most people in Western countries do then... good luck.

while a legitimate concern to have, how much fructose does the average orange actually have?

From that list I'll take the bananas, the blueberries, and the apricots.
