I love the historical focus, down to him even using some clothing, utensils, and tools of the time period the recipes were written.
However, he just has no vocal presence. His visual presence is fine, his posture and mannerisms are fine, but his voice and vocal style just sound like background characters in his own show. He sounds boring, and his pacing is too neutral, like he's always reading a rehearsed script instead of speaking his actual thoughts. This would normally be fine if he were going for more of a clinical/technical "documentary" style of narration and commentary, but he clearly is trying to show off a kind of persona/character, even occasionally making videos just about his equally-milquetoast opinions on things.

tl;dr: Everything about him and his channel are great, except for his voice/speech, his personality, and his boring as fuck streaming videos (which are just several straight hours of his voice/speech/personality, concentrated).
