Notice how those little old ladies only make maybe 20-50 cards at a time? You could almost call that a 'small batch' couldn't you? It's almost like craft refers to things that aren't mass/factory produced. Your local brewery has probably 2-6 stills compared to a place like Heineken that has several hundred.

Yes absolutely good
These big macrobreweries are not 'dying' they are just losing their massively dominant market position and small breweries are occupying a niche that companies like Heineken and Anheiser Busch were not filling.
If they want to adapt to changing market demands, they're in the best position to do it too. Use their existing, massive capital infrastructure to start producing a bigger variety of beers, up the quality a bit, sell at lower prices than craft breweries. Their profit margins will probably take a hit but they can absolutely survive.

The downside is, anon is right that alcohol is social lube that you will invariable be around, after work drinking, a friends wedding, etc. and it absolutely blows ass to be around drunk people while sober. Especially if they are wasted.

Millennials lack disposable income due to being like 1/9th as wealthy as their parents in the same age bracket and therefore are less likely to consume as much as their parents, despite memes to the contrary. The result is that industries based on the idea that Millennials (a larger generation than boomers) would consume more are now shitting the bed.

In addition the entire "population theory of growth" has basically been disproven, since automated machines picking fruits don't need infinite pacos to stand around them for them to work. Likewise you don't need massive lawn mowing companies. There are like 100 million brown people working useless jobs that will cease to exist in 30 years when all the boomers are dead.

The flip side I fear is that an entire new industry will basically be created to cater to boomers in their old age, making society spend 100 years catering to boomers and their whims as they drag us down. Luckily pretty much all other countries are in the same boat except the African ones.

This. Boomer industries keep catering to dying boomers instead of reaching into the millennial market which is full of spenders. Therefore, hipster garbage thrives and traditional products fall. This also hurts the job market because you have seasoned leaders standing their ground in dying businesses while startups struggle so to lack of experience. Now zoomers are catching up and things are gonna get more fucked as everything turns to Facebook/TikTok/Discord tier garbage

>Millennials lack disposable income due to being like 1/9th as wealthy as their parents
Don't millennials all carry huge credit card debts though? Buying on credit should allow them to still consume. Perhaps making student loans unavoidable even by bankruptcy was a mistake for the economy since you can have people be crippled by student loan debt and not be able to spend their $ on anything else.

I say this as a computer science major who just bought a home and until this moment had zero debt of any kind. I guess maybe I'm an anecdote that supports the guy I'm replying to because I'm a millennial and I have a near 40% savings rate.

Millennials actually don't carry credit card debts, this is one of the distinguishing features between millennials and their parents. Their parents carry credit card debts, millennials use cash or debit or cryptocurrency. Student loan debts are their primary debt held and cannot be discharged by bankruptcy.

No, millenials usually don't carry debts, but get nickle-and-dimed by expenses their parents never faced. On average they pay a higher % per paycheck towards just maintaining themselves(rent, food, etc.) than boomers do, mostly because a lot of boomers either inherited some form of money or capitalized on low rents and well-paying jobs early in life letting them purchase housing with stable prices.

They're already defaulting on their loans anon. Something like half of all student loans are in default. It's retarded to expect someone to pay back a loan at such a high interest rate their payments literally don't touch the principal.

For a period of 20 years boomers allowed private companies to give student loans with ridiculous interest fees and got rid of public, lower-interest options. That only got fixed in the late 2010s when they went back to the system Boomers had originally. Are some of those borrowers dumb? Yeah probably, but they were also told there'd be a job market once they got out from school. Despite propaganda not every millenial has a masters in basket weaving, most of them are employable degrees with a small pool of jobs and supressed wages that don't keep with inflation

Ask them what their rent-to-income ratio is. Most millenials I know are paying at least 50% of their income for rent, for a shitty apartment. Ask a boomer how much their rent was when they had apartments and it was orders of magnitude less, and they usually rented from private parties rather than some big corporate apartment landlord.

>Most millenials I know are paying at least 50% of their income for rent
I've been paying around 20% for years and have just now cracked 30% now that I've bought a home as far as what % of my income goes towards housing. I was talking to one of my coworkers over lunch with a bunch of other people and she was telling us how she doesn't put anything in retirement because "why would you give away money? I want my money". There is something to be said for socialism when your average citizen is incapable of planning for the future and this young lady is pretty bright despite her comments. I don't think it's fair to expect the government to support you but I also think it's probably bad for everyone to have people who are barely hanging on in their twilight years. I guess America hasn't been a true capitalist country since ever and social security has been around for close to 100 years now.

I work in an organisation that offers debt counselling and management services.

Those with credit card and other debts from over-extending are generally not millenials. What we tend to see is established working professionals with a few credit cards and vehicles on finance get into shit when they or their partner end up losing their job or can't work due to illness. With boomers, it's usually the guy has signed everything in both names, dies, and now the wife who was being looked after and knows nothing of managing money is left on the hook.

The younger people using our service are in debt by struggling to make ends meet, through rents and utilities and bad employment and not taking on credit.

Sorry to blogpost.
