Gotta find one of these so I can start eating raw meat.

Supermarket meat has more stringent hygiene controls down the supply chain than a slapdash independent operator can provide. Anything vacuum sealed is particularly reliable.

I swear my butcher sells older meat than the superamarket. Chicken always is slimey and has an off smell after a day or so, where as supermarket meat will last a a week and be fine. Butcher is cheaper so I buy there anyway

The supermarket treats me better when I call with my autism questions, fuck the butcher

where do I find a butcher that buys his meat from someone who unnecessarily tortures animals for the "flavour" illegally?

They put that "lean finely textured beef" crap in the shrink wrapped ground beef now, it's disgusting and tastes like dog food. Even Five Guys is using it now.

I bought meat from a local family butcher today. 2 pounds of ground beef and a porterhouse. There's a stall outside the farm with a fridge in it, you just pull up, grab some meat, stick the money in a box and leave.

I buy pasture raised chicken mostly, when I pull up the old guy that runs the place sends one of his sons out into the field to grab a chicken and slaughter it.

my local butcher doesn't offer anything I care about, they actually have less options than the butcher at my local grocery store. the only thing they would really do custom is mass ordering pork belly (no skin, thats not an option even if you ask) if you make bacon yourself
my local grocery store offers from standard steak to locally made sausages, to pigs feet and other weird shit.
