Just checking right quick(haven't been to BK in a while), a double-whopper meal is $8.79 here for a large. Drinks here can get pretty huge; medium is usually plenty big enough. Large is just way too much.

Ground beef prices depend on where you live. We get ours from a local meat market which is about a dollar cheaper per pound and better quality than what we'd find at a supermarket(we still get boxes of frozen burger patties for those nights when we just want something quick and easy.) It's cheaper than fast food, but people getting fast food are doing so because they don't feel like putting in the effort to cook, and when you take into consideration the strong "work culture" of the US, especially the south, it starts to make more sense why fast food is such a big meme here. This is especially true for young people who often work bullshit hours and never really learned to cook for themselves.
