Help /ck/, I'm a shitty cook and I fried hotdogs on the stove on 6 - 7, which equates to 400f to 425f.

the outside was hot but the inside wasnt really that hot. It was for a couple minutes.

I have now read that hotdogs are a potential vector for l. monocytogenes. Am I ok?

They were called hot dogs because common lore was they were made with mystery meat containing actual dogs. You are eating junk food but you knew that already.

I have eaten plenty of rotten and moldy shit when I was in university and survived.
Stop being a pussy.

The FDA says here:

Myth 7: Hot dogs are pre-cooked, so it's okay to eat them raw.
Fact: Actually, it's important to always reheat hot dogs until they're steaming hot. Some ready-to-eat foods, such as hot dogs, can become contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes after they have been processed and packaged at the plant. If it's not possible to reheat hot dogs, don't eat them.

Am I safe /ck/? the outside was hot but the inside not really, kind of medium

Maybe you're getting older so you can't handle junk food as well anymore. I used to love chili dogs but eating any sort of hotdogs make my stomach turn

I got food poisoning from poorly cooked hot dogs when I was 5. My aunt (who was babysitting me) didn't know how to cook meat properly, and fried some frozen hot dogs without boiling them first. Ended up shitting the bed a few hours later. Pretty painful experience, and one that's made me paranoid about not boiling sausages beforehand.

I remember after college when I was working my first real job and living in a shitty apartment I would buy these and just eat them straight out of the fridge cold. Never once got sick. You'll be fine

package is vacuum sealed from the factory until you open it. after that anything in the air, fridge, pariticles can get in the package, so it slowly becomes bad. like with packaged meats once you open it you have to use it or store it .
