Texas Pete, louisiana, and Crystal are all dogshit.

I prefer tobasco, redhot, and tapatio. Tobasco seems to be the spiciest, but it may be because its runnier and creates more volume in your mouth. Redhot is similar to buffalo sauce, and Tapatio is very flavorful on its own and will transform any bland dish.

Hot sauce names like "Assraping donkey dragon" have convinced me that hot sauces are just the edible form of mall-ninja swords. Gotta love when people will buy them just to "collect them" and not even use them on food. The naming convention is probably just following marketing trends at this point: one brand did it first, and now everyone has their own form of (reckless and unappetizing obscenity) hot sauce, which is usually no different than some potent wing sauce.

However, the ridiculously high scoville stuff does have uses if you want to make something hot without making it taste like hot sauce. Just a couple drops is all you need, so even a small bottle lasts a long time. Try it on instant noodles or a bowl of chili, and it's so much better than dousing the whole bowl with Louisiana or Cholula.

Right now this is my all time favorite. Its a wing sauce AND condiment.

I primarily use it as a condiment, just like YucaTeca, Tapatio, etc.
