When I worked at a Walgreens I'd sometimes buy that stuff there, but we got a pretty decent employee discount so it came out to the same or cheaper than a regular grocery store for me

Otherwise, the people who bought overpriced groceries there either were not regular customers and in a rush and just needed to pick up one thing, or the ones that were regular customers lived in government housing and couldn't drive and there wasn't a proper grocery store in walking distance so they paid the massive markup on their bread and milk and stayed poor

Only "grocery" item I usually buy from gas stations is milk, when I'm driving home from work, I know I need a gallon of milk and can't be arsed to drive in the opposite direction to go to the store
